It is possible to lose weight without counting calories and even without dieting by making a number of changes to the foods we eat and our daily lifestyle.  We have all been on diets where we have had to worry about how many calories were in a ham salad sandwich or a bowl of soup and most of them were a waste of time.

Try using some of these tips to lose weight without counting any calories.  Start by cutting back on the number of fizzy drinks and alcohol in your diet as they are full of empty calories that do nothing to fill you up.  Replace them with water to save hundreds of calories each day.

Bulking up your meals with fruit and vegetables will leave less room for other less healthy foods.  Try and have at least one serving with each meal and keep a supply of apples and oranges handy to snack on.

Always start the day with a good breakfast of wholegrain cereal topped with fruit and wholegrain toast.  Many people think that skipping meals is a good way of saving calories but they tend to eat and snack more later in the day.

Exercise plays a very important role in weight loss and the more you do the more calories you will burn.  Any exercise will do you good but for the most benefit an exercise needs to get your heart rate up and leave you feeling out of breath.

Portion control is a necessary part of any weight loss attempt.  If you are dieting and struggling to lose weight it may be that your portions are too big, try reducing them by 10%.

Learn to read food labels properly as low in fat does not always mean low in calories.  Foods that are advertised as low in fat may contain high levels of salt and sugar and may not be as good for you as you thought.
